Getting To Know Your City – Sydney
There’s nothing quite like studying in the beautiful city of Sydney. Home to so many iconic attractions such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House and beautiful beaches like Bondi and Manly, it’s hard to know where to start.
Here are some activities for getting to know Sydney:
1. Walk from Bondi to Coogee
One of the most popular walks around Sydney is the Bondi to Coogee Walk, which starts from the popular Icebergs Swimming Pool at the south side of Bondi Beach and weaves along the coast until you reach the cafe-filled beach of Coogee.
2. See Australia’s famous Sydney Harbour Bridge
Another popular walk is strolling over the world famous Sydney Harbour Bridge. On the Bridge you can walk up to the Pylon Lookout, which gives you amazing views of the city, including the Opera House. You’ll also be able to learn about how the steel bridge was constructed.
3. Stop by the Art Gallery of NSW
A great free activity in Sydney is to visit the Art Gallery of NSW, as the majority of the exhibitions are open to the public without a charge. The collections held within its walls are from both international and local artists alike and range from modern to contemporary art genres.
4. Visit Botany Bay
Botany Bay is situated around 15km South of Sydney CBD and has become a famous tourist destination, as it was the place Captain Cook first landed back in 1770. There are plenty of things to do in Botany Bay, including walking one of the many trails or having a barbeque/picnic by the foreshore.
